The first quarter brought a steady stream of site visits to Broken Arrow, highlighting continued interest from companies in key target industries. Among those were Project Ascend, a space manufacturing project, which is currently active and toured space at Arrow Forge, as well as Project Forest, an aerospace manufacturing opportunity considering Creek 51 that would bring 210 jobs and an estimated $80 million in capital investment.
While not every project crosses the finish line, each visit plays an important role in building awareness and strengthening Broken Arrow’s position in a highly competitive landscape. Project Blade Runner, a defense manufacturing project that considered Arrow Forge and represented 160 jobs and $30 million in capital investment, ultimately selected another community.
Amber Miller recently joined the Tulsa Regional Chamber for their New York Marketing Trip, representing Broken Arrow on a national stage. Over the course of three days, she held 11 strategic meetings with companies across a range of industries, sharing the story of Broken Arrow’s growth, workforce, and business-friendly environment.
These one-on-one conversations are a critical part of our business recruitment efforts, helping us build relationships, generate interest, and position Broken Arrow as a competitive location for future investment. Amber’s time in New York reflects our continued commitment to proactively connecting with companies and bringing new opportunities back home.
Solar Turbines has announced a $32 million expansion at its Broken Arrow facility, investing in six new machine tools and increasing production capacity by 20%. This growth will create 52 new full-time jobs, strengthening our community’s reputation as a hub for high-skilled energy technology.
The expansion reflects Solar Turbines’ confidence in our workforce, infrastructure, and business environment, and underscores Broken Arrow’s position as a thriving location for advanced manufacturing and innovation.
This fall, Broken Arrow will launch the Growth Cohort, an 8-week program designed to accelerate early-stage companies ready for their next phase of growth. The program is tailored for businesses that have already launched and are looking to scale revenue, strengthen operations, hire new talent, and expand their market presence.
Participants will benefit from structured education, mentorship from experienced business leaders, and direct access to regional opportunities including potential customers, strategic partners, and capital sources. The Growth Cohort is a hands-on way for entrepreneurs to gain the tools, connections, and guidance needed to take their businesses to the next level.
The Oklahoma Innovation Expansion Program (OIEP) makes $15 million in funding available to qualifying companies across the state. OIEP supports high-impact new capital investment across a broad range of industries to help diversify the state’s economy, lead to new product development or increase capacity at Oklahoma’s existing companies. In addition to encouraging new capital investment, these awards support existing jobs and the creation of new jobs. The program is administered by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce (Commerce) and the Oklahoma Development Finance Authority (ODFA).
