Rose District
The Rose District is a collaborative public/private partnership that breathed new life into Broken Arrow’s 100-year old historical downtown core. Community leaders envisioned a downtown district that would come to provide a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere, unique dining experiences, and boutique shopping that now draws residents and visitors into the downtown core.
Already home to many exciting restaurants and boutiques, an open plaza with an interactive fountain, and a 1,500-seat Performing Arts Center, this retail and arts district is primed for more growth. What started with a $5 million streetscape project in the district has seen over $60 million in private investment and over 40 new businesses.
The district continues to evolve with the construction of two new attributes. The Brio on the Rose offers 90 new urban downtown living options and 30,000 square feet of retail space. The Brio was a private-public partnership venture aimed at creating downtown occupancy and increasing daytime traffic. In support of this revitalization, the citizens overwhelmingly approved a proposition to create the Broken Arrow Center for Arts Innovation and Creativity. When complete, the Center will provide a place for artists of all types to come together — workspace for painting, sculpture, videography, music, ceramics, photography, culinary arts as well as community meeting space and classrooms. The Center is currently under construction.
The district continues to elevate the quality of life for residents and supports hundreds of jobs in Broken Arrow. By offering unique dining, local artisan products, nightlife, entertainment, and cultural experiences, the Rose District is now one of the most popular destinations in the region being hailed by USA Today in 2019 as one of the Top 50 Charming Main Streets in America.
