An innovation district is a physically connected, compact, and easily accessible area offering a variety of housing options, offices, and retail opportunities designed to reflect the increasingly collaborative and cross-sector nature of innovation. Innovation districts are driven by the concentration of leading-edge institutions and companies interconnected with start-ups, business incubators, and educational institutions. The mix of economic, physical, and social assets create a synergistic relationship between the diverse uses and user creating dynamic spaces to live, work, play, and innovate.
The proposed masterplan and inspiration/character images mark the culmination of a multi-year, multi-discipline effort of research, analysis, and design. While this is not the final iteration, it is a great milestone identifying a framework reflective of the characteristics that drive successful innovation districts with input from local and national partners ranging from development, engineering, city, and civic realms. The goals of the masterplan are to establish parameters and define a flexible infrastructure focused on facilitating a natural growth with emphasis on quality of life and cross-industrial collaboration.
Arrow Forge will be a 90 acre development at the corner of Florence and Olive. The BAEDC is spearheading the development for the City of Broken Arrow.

A greater concentration of activities and amenities diversify the economic strengths of the district while providing a mixture of convenience and destination “hot spots”. 4. Retail
Larger outdoor spaces that interconnect these offerings provide flexibility and lends itself to multiple uses that are family-friendly and walkable. Restaurants, coffee shops, and local retail are neighborhood-building amenities. Transparent facades and shaded outdoor spaces next to buildings activate the urban experience.
